Monarda is a favorite among butterflies and hummingbirds, but its fragrance is not liked by deer. Also called ‘Bee Balm’, Monarda comes in pink, an array of purples and dark pinkish-red. Many newer varieties are more compact in size, with increased mildew resistant qualities than ‘Bee Balm’ of years ago. Plant in full sun to light shade and the flowers will bloom all summer long.
