Ornamental Oregano is a disease and deer resistant perennial ornamental herb.  Although related to the oregano used for culinary purposes, ornamental oregano is edible, but will not have the same intense flavor as its relatives.  It is meant to be used as a showy addition to the landscape prized for its flowers and showy bracts that appear after it is done blooming. These bracts or calyxes will persist into the fall adding season-long interest to the garden and the flowers attract pollinators adding another positive attribute to this great plant. It thrives in a variety of soils and situations but does best in well-drained soil in full sun.  Add Ornamental Oregano to the mixed border, cottage, herb or rock garden, or add it to containers to add flair to the deck or patio.
