Specimen Plant

Dramatic Specimen Plants

Specimen plants are those that are grown as a focus of interest in a garden.  They draw attention to themselves and the area in which they are planted.  Specimen plants may have appealing form or branching structure, striking or evergreen foliage, or colorful or interesting blooms.  It is best to choose specimen plants that bloom at varying times to provide focal interest throughout the seasons.
