Rockin® Blue Suede Shoes™ is a sterile Salvia which means no energy goes into producing seeds, its only job is to send out more flowers all summer long. I ordered this specific cultivar, ROCKIN’® BLUE SUEDE SHOES™ Salvia, for the hummingbirds—and I’m so glad I did! The plants arrived in perfect condition right out of the box—I was truly impressed. They’re now in full bloom, and the hummingbirds found them right away. I usually grow 'Black and Blue' Salvia for the same reason, but I absolutely love the color of these blooms, and they started blooming much sooner than the 'Black and Blue'. These are just as beloved by the hummers! I have them in planters on the deck, and they’ve become a lively little hotspot.
