Rockin'® Blue Suede™ Shoes Salvia
- Pollinators Love ,
- Intense Color,
- Endless Blooms
Description
(Salvia) When planting a garden, I always find it important to have a few plants that attract specific creatures to the garden such as hummingbirds and butterflies. If you agree, Salvia Rockin® Blue Suede Shoes™ is a must! The crisp indigo blue flowers with dark black calyx stand 30-40 inches tall. The wide open flowers create a perfect invitation for the hummingbirds. These long blooming annuals have deep green foliage that complements the tall blue flower spikes. Planted in full sun to part shade, Rockin® Blue Suede Shoes™ is an easy to grow annual in average to semi poor soil conditions once established. A great thriller for containers as well as a nice specimen for mass planting, it is a hummingbird and butterfly magnet, a perfect selection for a pollinator garden. Rockin® Blue Suede Shoes™ is a sterile Salvia which means no energy goes into producing seeds, its only job is to send out more flowers all summer long. If you feel like it is getting too tall, it is no problem to give it a trim. Trimming will encourage additional branching and more flowers to enjoy.

Reviews
I ordered this specific cultivar, ROCKIN’® BLUE SUEDE SHOES™ Salvia, for the hummingbirds—and I’m so glad I did! The plants arrived in perfect condition right out of the box—I was truly impressed. They’re now in full bloom, and the hummingbirds found them right away. I usually grow 'Black and Blue' Salvia for the same reason, but I absolutely love the color of these blooms, and they started blooming much sooner than the 'Black and Blue'. These are just as beloved by the hummers! I have them in planters on the deck, and they’ve become a lively little hotspot. Based on this wonderful experience, we’ll definitely be purchasing from Garden Crossings again. Thank you!
