Double Play® Candy Corn® Spiraea
- Compact Plant,
- Three Season Color,
- Deer Resistant
Description
(Spirea) Three seasons of color? What a treat! The Double Play® series of Spirea are bred for beautiful flowers as well as foliage. Double Play® Candy Corn® does just that! Standing 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 feet tall, Candy Corn® goes through a seasonal color transformation. In spring the scarlet red foliage emerges, as the spring goes on the older foliage fades to a bright yellow color, but while all this is going on the new growth brings in an orangy red color for additional interest. In addition to all this great foliage color, Double Play® Candy Corn® Spirea blooms early summer with deep pinkish purple flowers. Watch out! You may even see a hummingbird or butterfly fluttering around. If deer are a problem in your garden, no worries, Double Play® Candy Corn® is a deer resistant shrub. Hardy in zones 4-9, Spirea is very versatile planted in a full sun to part shade location and makes a great border or foundation planting. Double Play® Candy Corn® Spirea is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.

Reviews
My most favorite shrub! Low maintenance and the colors are beautiful! They also love my area of Indiana.
These plants look awful! The first time i ordered lemon coral sedum from you earlier this season, they arrived in beautiful shape. So i decided to order 3 more plus the candy corn spirea. The sedum were slimmy and the spirea is dead on arrival. What happened? I want my money back! I have pictures.
We're so sorry to hear your plants arrived in rough shape. That's never the experience we want for you! Heat damage during shipping can sometimes happen, especially in warm weather, and we completely understand how frustrating it is to open a package and not find what you were expecting. We're glad we were able to connect with you and get this taken care of! For anyone else who ever has a concern about their order, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly right away. We're always happy to help.
This is an exceptional shrub in my NC zone 7b garden. The color in spring is so vibrant neighbors stop and look. Then you get the raspberry pink blooms and you fall in love all over again.
I have 3 other of this same shrub and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a smaller size shrub with lots of color.
Love these shrubs! They are doing really well and we have had very high temps here in Indiana. They arrived very quickly when ordered. Boxed very nicely.
