Laced Up® Elderberry (Sambucus)

(Elderberry) Looking to add a little whimsy to your gardens? Consider the tall, upright habit of Sambucus Laced Up®. Standing 6-8 feet tall and 2-4 feet wide, the whimsy, airy habit is unlike any other Elderberry. The heavily cut, dark burgundy black foliage resembles that of a Japanese maple. In mid summer large flat flowers appear in a shade of light pink that is a great contrast to the dark foliage. When planted with Black lace®, Laced Up® will produce Elderberry fruit. Hardy in zones 5-7, Laced Up® elderberry grows best in full sun to part shade locations. Trimming is generally not necessary, but if you desire we recommend trimming in the fall.
