Collection: Perennial Alyssum Plants

Alyssum, also known as Madwort, is a cheerful, low-growing perennial. It's native to the mountain regions of Southeastern Europe and hardy in USDA zones 4–9. It stays compact at just 6 to 8 inches tall. That makes it a natural fit for ground covers, borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, and containers. This compact perennial also handles poor soil conditions, tolerates drought, and resists deer and rabbits. So it thrives in spots where other plants struggle.

In April and May, alyssum erupts in a splash of sunshine with numerous small, bright yellow flowers. Those blooms bring fragrance and cheer to any sunny spot in the garden. Because it attracts pollinators and asks for very little in return, this plant earns its place in any garden. Give it full sun and dry to average well-draining soil. It rewards you with a long season of bright, fragrant color.
