Arctic fire

Planted in May and it’s already tripled in size by July 1. Fast growing.

Doing great!

I planted two of these red twig dogwoods a couple of months ago in my very wet back garden that is full of thick clay. They are doing great, growing more and more, and seem happy back there! It’s a tough area to grow in and these are a wonderful fit.

After 3 years in my mixed shrub garden it was a pleasure to give it a hard prune this winter to shape it up, remove older stems to keep it all red and fresh looking, and use the pruning to do some "winter gardening" in containers with greens. And still plenty left to enjoy against the backdrop of snow.

Such a great addition to the garden. It is especially good for the moist areas in our yard. Of course, it makes a great winter feature—and provides perfect for winter containers.
