My plant is too young for blooms, but it has demonstrated outstanding heat tolerance, here in SE Houston, where even plants rated for our zone can be fried. Common wisdom says not to bother with rhododendrons but this little Color Wheel seldom even seems to wilt. It has even put on some height and isn't even mulched yet. I have it in loose, well drained soil in a raised bed with dappled bright morning sun and an hour or two of late afternoon exposure. (The shadow from the house is pretty far away, so it doesn't protect it until late.)
