Glow Pop® Japanese Holly (Ilex)
- Compact Habit,
- Evergreen,
- Golden Green Foliage
Description
(Japanese Holly) A nice mounding, compact habit is what Glow Pop® Ilex will bring to the garden border. Growing 2-3 feet high and wide, this broadleaf evergreen displays bright golden foliage that won't burn even in full sun. Hardy in zones 5b-9, it is best grown in moist acidic soil with good drainage as some chlorosis may occur in alkaline soil. It can tolerate shade, but produces the best foliage color with full to part sun. Due to its compact habit, pruning is seldom needed, but if desired trimming may be done in late winter. This shrub is great for the mixed border, as edging, groundcover, or placed in containers. Glow Pop® Ilex is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Shrub.
