Mountainside® 'Crater Lake' Hybrid Spring Phlox
- Mass of Color,
- Refined Habit,
- Early Blooomer
Description
(Hybrid Spring Phlox) You know that spring is here when you see the tulips bloom. We now have a great companion plant for your spring-blooming bulbs, Hybrid Spring Phlox Mountainside® 'Crater Lake'! This spring ground cover blooms up to 2 weeks earlier than older Phlox subulata/creeping phlox and has a more manageable habit. Standing 4-6 inches tall and spreading up to 28 inches wide, you do not need to worry about this phlox taking over your garden. In the early spring, bright indigo blue/purple blooms emerge in full sun gardens. This tough perennial has low water needs and can handle areas with poor soil quality. A perfect plant to creep along garden borders as well as on hillsides. Plant here and there or plant everywhere, depending on whether you want spots of color or masses of color. This easy to grow native perennial is attractive to butterflies and pollinators alike. It's time to extend your color season! Phlox Mountainside® 'Crater Lake' is a Proven Winners® Perennial.
