Ocean Sunset™ Orange Vibe Ice Plant (Delosperma)

With superior flower power, this delosperma (also called "Ice Plant") puts on many blooms during the spring and all throughout the summer. Each bloom is bright orange with a yellow center. Deep green, almost succulent like foliage surrounds the flowers. Growing in a spreading habit, delosperma is great for garden borders and mass plantings. Delosperma in the Ocean Sunset™ series has the largest flowers of any of the delosperma. Hardy in zones 5a-9b, it is easy to care for and is heat and drought tolerant once established. Water lightly and be sure not to overwater. Plant in an area that receives full sun (6+ hours each day) and in well-drained soil. Ocean Sunset™ 'Orange Vibe' Delosperma is deer resistant so you won't have to worry about your blooms suddenly going missing. Its flowers are unique in that they will close at night and reopen midmorning. Growing to a maximum height of 4-6 inches and spreading up to 10-12 inches, Ice Plants are a great option for rock gardens or areas of the garden that don't receive as much water.
