Description

(Gomphrena) Add interest and texture to the garden with the tall, whimsical flowers of Ping Pong Purple Gomphrena. This gomphrena features upright spikes of dainty, purple flowers. If you look closely at the blooms, you may see a hint of yellow/cream spikes on the ends of the petals. The bold purple color complements the dark green stems and foliage of the plant nicely. This gomphrena can reach a height of 16-20 inches and a width of 8-10 inches. Its height and long, sturdy flower stems make it a great cut flower, and its cut blooms can be brought indoors for arrangements or centerpieces. Its bright colored blooms also attract pollinator bees and butterflies. Ping Pong Purple Gomphrena is quite resilient and can tolerate both heat and drought. It grows best in full sun areas of the garden. Easy to care for, it has average watering requirements, and we recommend fertilizing once a week throughout the growing season with a water-soluble fertilizer. The mounded, upright growth habit of gomphrena makes it a great filler for container combinations and can be paired with your favorite annuals for a beautiful, vibrant combination.
