Spintop® Red Starburst Blanket Flower (Gaillardia)

(Blanket Flower) Gaillardias are grown for their excellent flower power all season long, and SpinTop® Red Starburst Gaillardia is no exception! Commonly known as Blanket Flower, this gaillardia features large, colorful blooms. Each bloom has deep red/brown centers, and its petals have bold yellow tips that fade to red near the base of the petal. These large flowers stand out amongst its deep green, dense foliage. Hardy in zones 4-9, it can reach a maximum height of 8-12 inches and can reach a maximum width of 12-16 inches. It grows in a neat, fairly compact habit that is perfect for tucking into small spaces in the garden, or for a mass planting or border. It blooms prolifically from late spring to early summer, and butterflies are attracted to the blooms. It is a great option for areas with deer as it is deer resistant. Easy to care for, SpinTop® Red Starburst Gaillardia grows best in full sun areas, and is drought tolerant once established. It also makes a great container plant and cut flower.
