Description
(Golden Japanese Spikenard) Aralia 'Sun King' is a beautiful foliage plant for part shade to full shade locations. The chartreuse multi petaled branches fan out, lending to an airy looking perennial. Finally something new and different for the shade garden. 'Sun King' adds unique color and foliage to your shade garden. The size is much like a small shrub adding substance to the garden. White flowers and dark berries add an additional end of season interest.
Reviews
I already had 2 and ordered another one because I love how they look in shaded gardens. My plant arrived very healthy and in good shape from Garden Crossings. It has some growing to do, but the wait is worth it.
A1 plant for everywhere except bright Long Sun.... Best for 1/2 day sun or less, needs moisture, mine is on the East side of a building next to a downspout
Love Love Love the Sun King Aralia....but it totally disappeared from the garden this year..no sign of it and can't figure out what happened to it. It was huge and lovely last year! Definitely will get another one as I had this one for 4-5 years!
When I first bought these I wasn't aware they are perennials and not shrubs. When they died back that first winter I was disheartened. But wow, when they reappeared, the bright lime green was so exciting and a full 3 feet tall and wide.
