SunMagic® Vintage Electric Orange Coneflower (Echinacea)
- Long Blooming,
- Compact Habit,
- Attract Pollinators
Description
(Coneflower) Turn up the color in sunny garden spaces with Echinacea SUNMAGIC® Vintage Electric Orange. Vibrant orange blooms bring a warm, energetic look to the landscape, with colorful petals surrounding a contrasting central cone. The flowers are held above the green foliage on strong stems, making this coneflower an eye-catching addition when the garden is filled with mid to late summer color.
Hardy in USDA Zones 4–9, this compact perennial grows approximately 18–24 inches tall and 18–24 inches wide and performs best in full sun. Try it planted in groups for a larger splash of orange or mix it into perennial borders, cottage gardens, pollinator plantings, and containers. Its bold coloring pairs especially well with yellow, purple, pink, and deeper foliage tones.
Gardeners aren't the only ones who will enjoy the flowers. Bees and butterflies are attracted to Echinacea blooms, while finches may visit the seed heads later in the season. Coneflowers are also generally considered deer resistant.
For even more enjoyment, cut a few sturdy stems to bring indoors, as SUNMAGIC® Vintage Electric Orange makes an excellent cut flower for summer arrangements. Echinacea purpurea is native to North America, and this cultivated variety brings the benefits of this native species to the landscape with an exciting burst of orange.
