Petchoa is a hybrid of petunias and calibrachoas with many similarities. Petunias add large flower size and good vigor, Calibrachoas add vibrant colors and nonsticky foliage. This hybrid variety has improved self-cleaning abilities, is earlier to bloom, and can withstand more harsh weather conditions than traditional petunias. While traditional petunias have a hard time bouncing back from strong rain and wind, late spring frost, and the summer heat, petchoas can handle these conditions with ease. These are hungry and thirsty plants, that require enough watering to keep the soil moist, and weekly fertilizing with a water-soluble fertilizer. Plant in full sun areas of the garden.
