Boulevard® Parisienne Clematis

(Clematis) Ruffled violet-blue petals overlap to create the gorgeous, full-looking flowers of Clematis Boulevard® Parisienne. Bright magenta anthers stand out against the cool-toned petals, adding a striking pop of color. Each blossom brings beautiful detail to this compact flowering vine.

Parisienne puts on its first show in early summer, then returns with another flush of flowers in fall. The violet-blue coloring may shift with bloom time, sunlight, and humidity, giving the flowers slightly different appearances throughout the season.

Part of the Boulevard® series, Clematis Boulevard® Parisienne grows just 3–4 feet tall and wide. Its compact habit makes it an excellent choice for patio containers, small trellises, and decorative obelisks. Even gardeners with limited space can enjoy the vertical interest of a flowering Clematis without managing an oversized vine.

Hardy in zones 4–9, Parisienne grows in full sun to part shade and prefers moderate to moist soil. Its manageable size also makes it easy to incorporate into mixed borders, where the climbing stems can add height among lower-growing plants.

In late winter or early spring, trim the stems back to approximately 6 inches to encourage fresh growth. Give Parisienne a small support to climb, and enjoy those ruffled, violet-blue flowers at eye level.
