California Wonder peppers are an easy to grow selection and produce a plethora of peppers all summer long. As the peppers ripen they go from a deep green to a deep burgundy red. Keep your plants well watered and in direct sun for a better portion of the day. Peppers are usually picked at an early stage when they are green, although the flavor is enhanced as it matures and turns red. When picking peppers be careful to not pull on the pepper as it may damage your plant. It is best to trim it with a garden snipper. For best flavor, we recommend eating your peppers the same day they are picked. Peppers can set out on your counter for a few days and still taste great.
