Dreameria® 'Vivid Dreams' Sea Thrift (Armeria)

(Thrift, Sea Pinks) Vivid is definitely the word I would use to describe this armeria! Dreameria^® ‘Vivid Dreams’ Armeria features vibrant true purple, globe-shaped blooms. These blooms stand tall at the end of long, sturdy stems. Deep green foliage surrounds the base of the plant, giving it a unique shape. Hardy in zones 5a-9a, it can reach a maximum height of 10-12 inches. Its neat and tidy shape and growth habit make it perfect for fitting into containers or in small spaces in the garden. Plant in areas that receive full sun (6+ hours a day) and in well-drained soil. Armeria are generally easy to care for plants, they require moderate watering (but be careful not to overwater them), and they need to be deadheaded once a month to remove the spent blooms and promote new growth on the plant. Armeria love the cooler weather in the spring and fall, but this armeria will also flower all summer long and is heat tolerant. It provides long lasting color to the garden. Dreameria^® ‘Vivid Dreams’ Armeria is a great plant for attracting butterflies, and it is deer resistant so you won’t have to worry about the beautiful blooms or foliage getting eaten by these critters.
