Description
(Western Arborvitae) Full Speed A Hedge® 'American Pillar' Thuja is a vastly improved arborvitae with a dense well-branched habit. Full Speed A Hedge®™ 'American Pillar' arborvitae is a fast-growing variety that will reach a height of 15-20 feet with a spread of 3-4 feet and has shown excellent resistance to deer browsing. The glossy, green foliage has a narrow, columnar habit and maintains excellent winter color. It is best grown in full to part sun and requires average moisture. Thujas do not like wet feet so make sure that they are planted in well-drained soil. Full Speed A Hedge® 'American Pillar' is a natural selection to use in place of fencing or when you need to block out a view, but also makes a wonderful ornamental specimen. Full Speed A Hedge® 'American Pillar' is hardy to zone 3 and has been known to survive -40 degree temperatures!

I bought 30 American Pillars a year ago. I lost 4 to an over aggressive lawn care weed eater. One just turned brown and died on it's own after just short of a year.
