Guiding Promise™ Clematis

(Clematis) Clematis 'Guiding Promise' is part of the Boulevard series which is known for being compact and a great patio planter selection. 'Guiding Promise' features 5-inch mauve-purple flowers with ruffled edges and nicely overlapping petals. The flowers produce purple anthers which create an attractive eye to the flower. 'Guiding Promise' blooms in late May-early July and will rebloom in late summer off the new season growth. Standing 3-4 feet tall, this compact growing clematis is the perfect size for patio planters and smaller trellis'. Hardy in zones 4-9, 'Guiding Promise' Clematis likes to be grown in full sun to part shade locations, keeping the foliage in the sun and the roots shaded. Shading can be done with mulch or by planting low-growing plants near the base. As part of Prune group 3, a hard prune is recommended in the Fall.
