Description

(Mandevilla) SUN PARASOL® XP Bluephoria™ Mandevilla features vintage purple blooms with a burgundy center. Its blooms are 2-3 inches in size and they stand out amongst bright green foliage. A climbing mandevilla, it can reach a maximum height of 1-2 feet and can trail or spread up to 2-3 feet creating an upright bushy habit. Plant with a vertical support system such as a trellis, wall, or obelisk, or let it trail down from a tall container or hanging basket. Its blooms will attract pollinator bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies. SUN PARASOL® XP Bluephoria™ Mandevilla performs best when planted in full sun and it can tolerate the heat of the summer. It requires regular watering but make sure to let the soil dry out between waterings. It is recommended to deadhead the spent blooms in order for it to continue to rebloom. We also recommend fertilizing your annuals once a week with a water-soluble fertilizer. Do this continuously throughout the spring and summer to keep your mandevilla healthy and looking its best. Give SUN PARASOL® XP Bluephoria™ Mandevilla a try in your garden for continuous color all season long.

is one of the most unique colors of Mandevilla I have seen. It is fun to see all the shades of pink, blue and purple on one plant as the flowers age.

I had the opportunity to grow three of the Bluephoria Mandevilla in my home garden in Columbus, Ohio last growing season. Two were grown in hanging baskets and one in a container on the patio. The two in hanging baskets were on shepard hooks on the street side of my home. All received full sun and watered as needed. All received a soluble fertilizer 20-20-20 every two weeks from May through September. Pests were not a problem. The plants grew vigorously all season which lasted through the end of October. They bloomed abundantly all season and held their blue color with a few light blue steaks complimenting the dark blue color. These bloosums love the heat and full sun. The hanging baskets got rave reviews from passerbys walking by the house and from fellow Master Gardeners. The blue blooms and fullness of the plant are eye catching. Happy Gardening!
