(Bee Balm) Taller and more robust than the PARDON MY and LEADING LADY Series, the UPSCAPE™ series features on average plants that reach 2- 2 ½ feet tall. UPSCALE™ 'Pink Chenille' has large 3 ½ inch bubblegum pink blooms with a lighter interior giving the flowers a bi-colored effect. Standing 22-24 inches tall and spreading to 22 inches wide, UPSCALE™ 'Pink Chenille' monarda is very floriferous with blooms covering the top half of the plant. The well-branched stems support the second wave of blooms giving you even more time to enjoy this garden beauty. The UPSCALE™ series has shown excellent mildew resistance for a cleaner-looking plant. Hardy in zones 4-8, this native perennial likes to be planted in full sun to part shade locations and is quick to multiply filling in garden spaces. Blooming mid to late summer, UPSCALE™ 'Pink Chenille' attracts hummingbirds and butterflies as well as beneficial pollinators to the garden. I have one Pink Monarda planted in an 18" pot in my terrace garden and it is thriving. Really nice bright big flowers. I water it every 3 days and that seems to work well. The winds up here can thrash the flowers a bit, but the recover within a week. I haven't seen any bees by them yet, but it could be that it's just early in the season. I would 100

I received 2 Upscale Pink Chenille Monarda in excellent condition - large quart size with lush, dark green foliage. Packaging was excellent! I planted them in my garden the next day and watered deeply (still warm here until late October/early November in Zone 8B). I don’t expect flowers this year but am hopeful for lots of pink blooms in the garden next summer!
