My plants of Very Fine Wine are about 2 years now and holding a tight compact look with lots of leaves and it's a good bloomer, Mine are at an eastern exposure but still hold the deep purple leaves a long time and mellow to a brown-purple color eventually. I have several varieties of Weigelia and this one is certainly one of the best.
