Description
(Weigela) As a fine red wine gets better with age, FINE WINE® Weigela has gotten better also. Introducing VERY FINE WINE®. This compact Weigela has more vivid and prolific hot pink flowers and deeper darker foliage. VERY FINE WINE® grows 2-2 ½' high and wide making it great for the front of the mixed border or foundation planting and due to its compact size, is an excellent choice for containers. The tubular shaped spring blooms will attract Hummingbirds, but deer will keep walking right on by! Hardy in zones 4-8, this Weigela blooms on old wood so prune as needed after flowering. Provide a full sun location for best flowering and performance and provide well drained soil and average moisture. VERY FINE WINE® Weigela is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.

F
Felarocks My plants of Very Fine Wine are about 2 years now and holding a tight compact look with lots of leaves and it's a good bloomer, Mine are at an eastern exposure but still hold the deep purple leaves a long time and mellow to a brown-purple color eventually. I have several varieties of Weigelia and this one is certainly one of the best.
