'Adam's Courage' Clematis

(Clematis) Adam's Courage is a stunning reblooming clematis featuring shades of lavender pink. Bloom colors may vary depending on the bloom time. Early summer flowers blooming off the old growth are more varied blooms in shades of lavender to rich fuchsia. Summer flowers blooming off of new growth are deep violet and fade to a rich lavender. The flowers feature pointed petals that create an overlapped, very full flower. The burgundy anthers are a stunning focal point. Blooming off the new growth, Adam's Courage is a floriferous bloomer starting in June and blooms again in late summer on the new growth. Reaching heights of 5-6 feet, Adam's Courage is a great addition for patio planters as well as adding vertical interest to the garden. Train them to climb up a trellis, fence, pole, or arbor to create a unique vertical focal point in your garden. Hardy in zones 4-9, Adam's Courage Clematis likes to be grown in full sun to part shade locations, keeping the foliage in the sun and the roots shaded. Shading can be done with mulch or by planting low-growing plants near the base. Part of Prune group 2, blooming off of new and old growth, we recommend trimming any dead off once you see where the new growth emerges in the spring.
