Description
(Ornamental Onion) Allium 'All the Buzz' is a standout ornamental onion that delivers long-lasting color and exceptional pollinator appeal. Standing 14- 18" tall and up to 20" wide, this compact, clump-forming perennial produces rounded, rosy lavender flower heads held on sturdy stems above tidy glossy green foliage. Blooming up to 2 weeks earlier than MIleenium, it provides weeks of vibrant color while maintaining a neat, well-behaved habit. All the Buzz is hardy in zones 4–8, making it a reliable performer in a wide range of climates.
This allium thrives in full sun, where it flowers most heavily and maintains strong, upright stems. It prefers well-drained soil, including sandy or average garden soils, and does not tolerate consistently wet conditions. One of its biggest strengths is its ability to attract pollinators, especially bees, which are drawn to the nectar-rich blooms. Like most ornamental onions, it is considered deer and rabbit resistant, making it a smart choice for gardens with browsing pressure.
In garden design, Allium 'All the Buzz' works beautifully in perennial borders, pollinator gardens, and mixed beds. Its compact size makes it ideal for edging paths or filling gaps between larger perennials. Plant in mass or as a specimen for a great addition to the garden. Allium 'All the Buzz' is a Proven Winners® Perennial.
