- Shimmering Blue Flowers,
- Silvery Stems,
- Survives the Heat
Description
(Sea Holly)‘Blue Glitter’ Eryngium is a striking perennial that shines in hot, sunny gardens with its intense steel-blue, spiny flowers atop silvery stems, a vivid architectural accent for beds and borders. This selection matures quickly and produces more abundant flowers than older varieties. It typically forms a basal clump of blue-green foliage about 6-8" tall with an 8–12" spread, while the flowering scapes reach 36–40" high. Hardy in Zones 4–8, it thrives in full sun with well-drained soil and low to average water needs. In addition to dramatic summer color, the blossoms attract bees and butterflies, making it a pollinator-friendly choice for sunny borders or cut and dried flower arrangements. ‘Blue Glitter’ combines easy care with long-lasting visual interest.
