Description

(Beardtongue) Add a spark of color to your garden with Penstemon 'Cherry Sparks'. This long-blooming variety of Beardtongue blooms up to twice as long as others flowering from late spring through summer. This sterile specimen has one job and that is to produce flowers. 'Cherry Sparks' features bright cherry red blooms with a white throat. Large flowers line the stem for tip to toe flower coverage. Standing 18-20 inches tall and spreading up to 16 inches wide, it likes to be grown in full sun locations in well-drained soils. We recommend removing spent blooms to encourage additional flowers. Hardy in zones 5-9, this native perennial attracts hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden. Excellent for cut flowers, Penstemon 'Cherry Sparks' makes a great specimen in the garden.
