Blooming in the spring and lasting into the late summer, this butterfly bush is well loved by butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Hardy in zones 5a-9a, it is easy to care for and is even frost tolerant with a hardiness degree down to -25 degrees Fahrenheit. Chrysalis™ Cranberry Buddleia is a compact variety standing 20-28 inches tall at maturity and can spread up to 18-24 inches. In the Northern zones, they generally die back to the ground in the winter and then comes back up in the spring. Southern zones may find the stems to be more hardy. If you are in zones 6-9, it is recommended to trim the stems back in the spring once the plant comes out of dormancy. You won't have to worry about the deer eating this plant as it is deer resistant. Chrysalis™ Cranberry Buddleia should be grown in full sun and in well-drained soil. Moderate watering is required.
