Description

(Adam's Needle) Yucca 'Color Guard' is a tough-as-nails plant, ideal for a no-maintenance garden. The sword-like foliage radiates upward from a central crown, remaining upright all year-round, except in the heaviest snows. It bears bright creamy-yellow leaves with green edges. During the cooler months of fall and winter, the light leaf centers take on rose overtones. From early to midsummer, spectacular sturdy flower stalks rise 3-4 feet tall from the center of the plant. The individual bell-shaped flowers are 2-3 inches long and dangle from the stems like earrings. Yucca 'Color Guard' is tolerant to drought and poor soil. Just plant it in the sun and watch it grow.

They haven't been planted for very long, but they seem to be thriving so far.

I ordered 6 yuccas for the East and west sides of my house and they are gorgeous! They were packaged with great care when they arrived. They are growing new leaves too! I have potted cactus plants by them so I have the “southwestern desert vibe” going on. Can’t wait till they reach full maturity and have flowers. In the meantime their beautiful leaves are now getting a touch of magenta pink, just stunning! Thank u for such gorgeous plants!

When I was 9 years old I tripped and fell over one of these in Calif. Believe them when they say "tough as nails" and this plant is appropriately named.

Had this plant about 4 yrs., love the color of foliage but hasn't bloomed for me yet! Remaining hopeful it will.
