Colorblaze® Mini Me™ Watermelon Coleus

(Coleus) A new addition to the Colorblaze® coleus family is the Mini Me™ series featuring a smaller habit and daintier foliage. Colorblaze® Mini Me™ Watermelon features small, heavily serrated leaves that are pinkish orange with chartreuse edging. At certain times of the day a more burgundy glow appears with bright edges. It is noted that Colorblaze® Mini Me™ Watermelon coleus stands 20 inches tall and spreads up to 18 inches wide, in our trials it got slightly taller. Planted in full sun to full shade, Coleus is an easy-to-grow annual foliage variety, the more sun it gets the brighter the coloration. The Colorblaze® series has been bred to handle the heat of the summer as well as to bloom late in the season. If it does start to flower it can easily be snipped off to keep a clean and tidy foliage look. If deer are an issue in your garden, they should stay away from your coleus. NOTE: ColorBlaze® Mini Me™ Watermelon coleus may have variable leaves or branches. Most often, the color change will show up as a dark burgundy leaf or branch. In very rare instances, the entire plant will display a variable color. It is not harmful to the plant in any way. If you like it, simply leave it be. If not, simply trim off the part of the plant showing the color change.
