Description

(Spirea) Introducing a totally different flower look to the Double Play® Spiraea family. Double Play Dolly® features flowers with unique shades of purple. Most Spirea has red or pink flowers so having flowers that start off pink shades and turn to purple shades is truly amazing. A compact flowering shrub, spiraea Double Play Dolly® stands 18-30 inches tall and wide. In the spring as the foliage emerges, it starts off shades of orange-ish red before changing to bright yellow. So not only does this shrub have great flowers, the foliage is just as amazing. Hardy in zones 3-8, Spirea is a very versatile shrub for full sun to part sun locations and is adaptable to just about any soil including clay, as long as it does not stay wet. Double Play Dolly® blooms on the new growth, although rarely needed, trimming can be done in early spring. Deer-resistant and drought-tolerant, Double Play Dolly® Spirea is a great selection for foundation plantings, borders, or mass planting. Double Play Dolly® is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
