Double Take Eternal White® Quince (Chaenomeles)
- Thornless Quince,
- Continuous Bloomer,
- Cascading Habit
Description
(Flowering Quince) The first ever continuous/longest blooming flowering Quince. Double Take Eternal White® is a thornless Quince with large, double-white blooms. Little buds form in early spring and start to burst open before the foliage emerges, but the show doesn't stop here! While early spring and summer it puts on their best show of color, it blooms sporadically until Fall. The dark green foliage compliments the beautiful camellia-looking flowers. This was a 'by chance' seedling that appeared and has proven to be a winner. Standing 2-4 feet tall and spreading up to 5 feet wide, this Quince has a lower, wider habit than others in the Double Take® series. Planted in full sun to part shade locations, Double Take Eternal White® is hardy in zones 5-9. If deer are an issue in your landscape, Quince would be a good deer-resistant selection. Adaptable in just about any soil condition once established, Double Take Eternal White® can handle clay and drought-prone areas. Quince blooms on the old growth so we recommend that if trimming is needed, you do so right after it is done blooming in the spring. Chaenomeles Double Take Eternal White® Quince is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
