Description

(Crossvine) Add a tower of vertical color to your garden with Dressed to Thrill™ Bignonia. Commonly called crossvine, this bignonia features an abundance of bright trumpet-shaped flowers with fiery red on the outside and bright yellow on the inside. These bright flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies, and bloom in the spring and early summer. Native to North America, it is a vigorous climber and climbs by tendrils, so be sure to have a well-structured trellis, wall, or vertical support system for this plant. Dressed to Thrill™ Bignonia can reach a maximum height of 12-30 feet and a maximum width of 6-9 feet. Hardy in zones 6-9, it grows best in full sun to part shade locations and in well-drained soil. It is both heat and drought tolerant once established. Its dark green foliage is evergreen, and it blooms on old and new growth. Very little pruning is required, if you do choose to prune your plant, it is best to prune just after the main spring bloom. Dressed to Thrill™ Bignonia is a stunning addition to the garden! Dressed to Thrill™ Bignonia is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
