Description

(Bugleweed) Feathered Friends® 'Fancy Finch' Ajuga is the industry's first orange tri-colored small-leaved variety. The striking foliage of this evergreen ground cover provides excellent texture and glowing color to shady areas and sets off the cobalt blue blooms that appear in spring. The foliage will be orange with more sun exposure and will be shades of orange, yellow, and lime-green in the shade. 'Fancy Finch' Ajuga grows 4-6" high and will spread 9-18" wide and is best grown in part to full shade in moist, well-drained soil. Use as a border or ground cover plant in the shade garden. 'Fancy Finch' compliments other shade plants such as Brunnera, Heuchera, Hosta, and Pulmonaria. The Feathered Friends® collection of Ajuga offers never before seen colors, consistent vigor and hardiness in zones 4-9.

I orded these to add to my ground cover. I received pots full of plants with a good root system. The deer leave them alone and they provide winter interest. I really like these!

I bought a quart pot towards the end of the season and what came was basically a gallon! This ajuga is so beautiful. I was able to divide it into four (!) very healthy sized clumps and plant them in a shady area of the "tropical" section of my Seattle garden. They provide a lovely accent to canna lilies, variegated fatshedera, astelia, maidenhair ferns, flowering maple vine and chilean guava. It brightens up that shady corner where I only had chartreuse baby tears (Soleirolia Soleirolii Aurea) as a groundcover before and provides some wonderful texture and height interest.
