Honeymoon® 'Swiss Alps' Lenten Rose (Helleborus)

(Lenten Rose) A favorite winter/early spring blooming flower with a new twist - Honeymoon® 'Swiss Alps' Helleborus. This hellebore features stark white, rounded petals with a deep burgundy eye and yellow center. Bright green foliage accompanies the flowers, making it stand out in the garden during the early season. Its blooms will appear in the early spring and last into mid spring. Hardy in zones 4-9, it can grow to a maximum height and width of 18-24 inches. Honeymoon® 'Swiss Alps' Helleborus grows best in part shade to full shade locations. It has low to average watering requirements and is drought tolerant once established. Helleborus are pretty resilient plants, and are both deer and rabbit resistant, so you won't have to worry about these critters munching on the flowers or foliage. Bees are attracted to the flowers, making it a great early season pollinator perennial. It is recommended to trim last year's foliage in the spring to keep the plant healthy.
