Description

(Jessamine) With beautiful fragrance and unique tubular blooms, Juiced® Orange Jessamine is a unique new tropical addition. Juiced® Orange features orange tubular flowers that bloom all summer. The dark green, glossy evergreen(in the south) foliage forms an upright mound standing 4-5 feet tall and up to 4 feet wide. Hardy in zone 7b-10, Juiced® Orange Jessamine likes to be grown in well-drained soil in full sun to part sun areas. Once established it is drought tolerant. Jessamine loves the hot summer sun and has citrus-scented blooms that flower all summer long with no deadheading required. This easy-to-grow South American native is a real treat in the garden for hummingbirds and butterflies. Juiced® Orange Jessamine is perfect for foundation plantings, borders, or container gardens. The deer-resistant shrub blooms can be trimmed after it is done blooming. For those in zone 7, it will die back to the ground like a perennial with new growth the next season. Cestrum Juiced® Orange is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.

Not great for Tucson (zone 9) and >105˚F temps

I bought three of these last fall and had high hopes for them. One (arrived August) I planted in a pot and it bloomed beautifully last winter and early spring as we had no frost. It was a great looking shrub 3' x 3'. The other two arrived later (October) and were planted in two different gardens with afternoon shade. They all were growing well until temperatures climbed over 105˚F and they all died despite having plenty of water and afternoon shade. Therefore, I can't recommend for our Tucson summer temperatures. Too bad because the one that bloomed was really nice looking with a bloom time of many months.
