Description
(Diervilla) Diervilla KODIAK® Green is a tough yet beautiful shrub that earns its place in any landscape. This native cultivar combines durability with vibrant color through the seasons. Hardy in USDA Zones 3-8, it grows about 3–4 feet tall and wide, forming a tidy, mounded shape that fits perfectly in mixed borders, foundation plantings, or naturalized landscapes.
In early to mid-summer, small bright yellow flowers cover the plant, attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The blooms contrast nicely with the clean, medium-green foliage that stays fresh-looking all season. As temperatures cool, the leaves take on rich golden and warm orange tones, extending garden interest well into fall.
KODIAK® Green is part of a line of diervilla known for exceptional shade tolerance and tough performance it thrives in sun or part shade, adapts to a wide range of soils, and once established, shows strong drought resistance. This makes it an excellent, low-maintenance choice for slopes, pollinator gardens, or anywhere you want lasting color without constant care.
This native shrub plays well with others, supporting wildlife and adding structure to the garden. It's also deer resistant, making it a worry-free option for landscapes with browsing pressure. Diervilla KODIAK® Green is a Proven Winners® Color Choice Shrub!
