Description

(Bush Honeysuckle) Fantastic foliage for any location! Diervilla Kodiak® Orange is a tough little plant that is easy to grow. Standing 3-4 feet tall, the glossy, green foliage is adorned with splashes of orange from new growth throughout the summer. Then, watch out fall, Kodiak® Orange is on fire! The glowing shades of dark orange and yellow make this a tough competitor to the Burning Bush for fall color. In mid summer bright yellow flowers dapple the glossy green foliage. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. The best part. Diervilla Kodiak® Orange can be grown in full sun to full shade, although best color appears in sun. This native variety is drought tolerant and deer resistant. A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Shrub.

Plant is easy to care for after first season/season and a half. BUT- it is not a plant to use with deer around. I ordered 5 and the deer ate all but 2 and they’re munching on those now.

We purchased two of these to plant next to a bed of agastache. They get full sun and grew a lot the first year we had them. Their orange foliage looks amazing.

Planted 3 of these under a large tree, and even though they get a little block of Sun in the morning and shade the rest of the day, one grows very well and the other two is remaining small so I will be moving them this Spring! Still beautiful color, just have to decide where to put them now.
