La Vida Grande® Indian Hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis)
- Colorful New Growth,
- Large Bloom Size,
- Heat & Drought Tolerant
Description
(Indian Hawthorn) La Vida Grande® Rhaphiolepis is one of the most striking Indian Hawthorns you will see. It displays an abundance of large, bright pink flowers on large panicles that are set off by dark green evergreen foliage that is a lovely blushed peach color when newly emerged. La Vida Grande® was a top performer in trials with excellent healthy foliage. This selection is for our Southern gardeners in zones 8-10 and grows best in acidic, well-drained soil in full to part sun. Although it can tolerate some shade, we recommend planting in full sun to enhance blooming and performance. La Vida Grande® Rhaphiolepis grows 4-6 feet tall and wide and can be used as a specimen plant, as a hedge, or in the mixed border. Prune after flowering if desired as La Vida Grande® blooms on old wood. La Vida Grande® is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
