La Vida Mas® Indian Hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis)
- Attracts Pollinators,
- Drought & Heat Tolerant,
- Reblooming
Description
(Indian Hawthorn) La Vida Mas® Indian Hawthorn has improved the traditional Indian Hawthorn by blooming non-stop throughout the spring, summer, and fall with two times as many flowers as the species! This great plant is for our Southern gardeners in zones 8-10 and displays a low compact growth habit. The dark blue-green foliage is evergreen and contrasts with the lovely pink flower clusters which bloom on both old and new growth. Pruning can be done if desired after spring bloom. La Vida Mas® Indian Hawthorn grows best in acidic, well-drained soil and is drought and heat tolerant once established. It will grow 1-2 feet high by 3-4 feet wide and can be used as a specimen plant or enjoyed in mass or as a ground cover due to its compact height. Although La Vida Mas® can tolerate some shade, we recommend planting in a full sun location to enhance blooming and performance. La Vida Mas® is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
