Description
(Quilled Black-Eyed Susan) Add a bright flowering display to your garden with Rudbeckia 'Little Henry'! If you loved ‘Henry Eilers’, you’re sure to love 'Little Henry'! Commonly known as Quilled Black-Eyed Susan, ‘Little Henry’ is a dwarf version of ‘Henry Eilers’ and is a third shorter. It can reach a maximum height of 36 inches and can grow as wide as 24 inches. An upright and narrow plant, it is perfect for planting in small spaces in the garden, or as a border plant or mass planting. Its shorter habit makes it less likely to split. Hardy in zones 4-8, it grows best in full sun and in average to moist soil types. 'Little Henry' is more usable in an average garden and starts blooming in July, two weeks earlier than 'Henry Eilers'. It will continue to bloom throughout midsummer and into fall. Bold yellow, “quilled” petals extend from deep brown centers, giving this rudbeckia a unique look. These flowers stand atop tall, sturdy green stems with dense, bright green foliage. This variety makes a great cut flower for summer bouquets. As you enjoy the cut flowers indoors, the butterflies will enjoy them in the garden. Rudbeckia 'Little Henry' gives the perfect “wildflower” look to your garden.
