Description

(Rockfoil) Looking to add a splash of early spring color to your garden? Marto™ 'Red Picotee' Saxifraga does just that! This new variety blooms prolifically from March to June and thrives in cooler temperatures. It is hardy in zones 4-8, and with a hardiness degree rating of -25 degrees, it can often tolerate light, early frosts in the spring. Commonly called Rockfoil, Marto™ 'Red Picotee' Saxifraga features an abundance of small flowers with white petals and deep magenta tips forming a picotee pattern. The centers of each flower appear yellow. These flowers adorn the tops of short, light green/yellow stems with small foliage leaves underneath. Growing in a mounded habit, it can reach a maximum height of 4-6 inches and can spread up to 5-7 inches. Perfect for fitting into small spaces in the garden, as a low-growing mass planting, or as a border plant. Marto™ 'Red Picotee' can be grown in full sun areas, in warmer climates it may benefit from afternoon shade. Saxifraga is a deer and rabbit resistant perennial. This drought tolerant perennial is a perfect addition to rock gardens.
