Marto™ Red Rockfoil (Saxifraga)

Commonly called Rockfoil, this variety thrives in the cooler temperatures of the early spring and will flower prolifically from March to June. Hardy in zones 4 through 8, it can withstand temperatures down to -25 degrees. Early, light frosts in the spring shouldn't be a problem for this plant as it is frost tolerant. Marto™ 'Red' Saxifraga has loads of flower power and features an abundance of small red flowers with yellow centers. These flowers stand at the tops of small green/red stems, and the plant has light foliage underneath the flowers. A shorter addition to the garden, it can reach a maximum height of 4-6 inches and can spread up to 5-7 inches. It grows in a mounded habit perfect for borders or mass plantings in the landscape. This deer and rabbit resistant perennial likes to be planted in full sun to part shade gardens.
