Description

(Mulla Mulla) Add unique texture and interest to your garden with Matilda Ptilotus. This one-of-a-kind plant produces cone-shaped flower spikes that stand tall in the garden. These flower spikes are purple in color and have a feathery texture. Long, red stems support the flower spikes, and rounded green foliage adds a nice complement to the purple blooms. This is an excellent cut flower plant. It grows best in full sun exposure (6+ hours each day) and is both heat and drought tolerant once established. We recommend feeding your annuals once a week with a water-soluble fertilizer during the season. Matilda Ptilotus blooms from midsummer to mid-fall. It can reach a height of 20-32 inches and can spread as far as 12-14 inches in width. Plant in your garden as a specimen plant or as a mass planting. Bring the blooms indoors for a nice arrangement or enjoy them outside as a statement flower in the landscape. Matilda Ptilotus is a highly sought after annual that requires low water once established.
