Featuring true purple petals with a cream center, these flowers are prolific among deep green, succulent-like foliage. Delosperma in the Ocean Sunset™ series has a higher flower count per plant and its flowers are larger compared to other delosperma. Like us, its flowers will go to sleep at night (close up), and then they will awaken (reopen) in the mid morning. Hardy in zones 5a-9b, it is frost tolerant and can handle temperatures down to its hardiness degree rating of -25 degrees Fahrenheit. Its flowers appear in spring and last well into the late summer. Easy to care for, Ocean Sunset™ 'Violet Flare' Delosperma is drought tolerant once established. It likes to be grown in full sun and does not like to be overwatered, so water lightly. It is deer resistant so you won't have to worry about the deer munching on the beautiful blooms. Grow as a mass planting, as a border, or in rock gardens. It can reach a maximum height of 4-6 inches and can spread up to 10-12 inches.
