Description
(Ice Plant) Add a sea of purple to your garden with OCEAN SUNSET™ 'Violet' Delosperma! Featuring impressive flower cover, this delosperma (also called “Ice Plant”) produces deep violet blooms with yellow centers. These blooms appear in the spring and last well into the summer. Every night the blooms close and then reopen again mid morning. Easy to care for, this delosperma is drought tolerant and heat tolerant once established. It likes to be grown in full sun and in sandy, well-drained soil. Light watering is required but be sure not to overwater. Hardy in zones 5a-9b, it can tolerate frost and is hardy to -25 degrees Fahrenheit. Growing in a spreading growth habit, it reaches a maximum height of only 4-6 inches, and can spread up to 10-12 inches. Plant in mass, as a garden border, or to add color to a rock garden.
