(Maltese Cross) One of our most sought after orange, sun-loving, perennials is Lychnis 'Orange Gnome'. The bright orange blooms are 1 ½ inches across and bloom virtually all summer long. Standing 12-15 inches tall and spreading to 12 inches wide, 'Orange Gnome' forms an upright mounding habit. The burgundy green foliage is a perfect complement of color to the bright orange blooms. Hardy in zones 3-9, 'Orange Gnome' likes to be grown in full sun locations and is pretty adaptable in any soil condition. Blooming up to 8 weeks, 'Orange Gnome' attracts hummingbirds and is a great selection for borders or in the front of your garden. Pair with your favorite purple blooms for great color contrast.

Full Bloom

I am excited to see that this plant is coming up this spring in my zone 2. I started some indoors in mid-February and they are in full bloom right now. Brilliant orange to red flowers. I love the foliage on it too. I can see this plant becoming one of my favorites.
