Description

(Panicle Hydrangea) Check out the Powerball™ Hydrangea! A hardy, panicle hydrangea with blooms that start as lime green, then turn to a muted cream, then various shades of pink for a complementary end–of-season look. The blooms appear in the summer and age beautifully into the late summer/early fall. Unique to the panicle hydrangea family, Powerball™ Hydrangea is Hardy in zones 3-8 and can grow to about 3-6 feet wide and tall. Grow in full sun to part shade areas of the garden or landscape. For our Southern friends, we do recommend afternoon shade for the best performance. Panicle Hydrangeas are the most tolerant of sun and resist wilting. It can tolerate most soil types but does not like very moist soils. In the fall, you can cut the beautiful pink blooms and bring them indoors for arrangements or drying. Powerball™ Hydrangea blooms on new growth, and should be trimmed back by about one-third in either the fall or in the early spring before the new growth comes in. Grow this hardy hydrangea as part of your perennial garden, in mass plantings, or as a special specimen plant in your garden or landscape. Powerball™ Hydrangea is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
