Description
(Primrose) Primula PRIMA BELARINA® SPRING SUN is a compact, early-blooming perennial prized for its large 2 ½", bright, fully double yellow flowers. Blooming in early to mid-spring, this primrose brings a cheerful pop of color to shady garden spaces when few other plants are in bloom. The blooms are lightly fragrant and sit above deep green, textured foliage.
Ideal for hardiness zones 4–8, PRIMA BELARINA® SPRING SUN performs best in partial to full shade and prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil. It reaches a mature height of 5–8 inches with a spread of 10-12 inches, making it well-suited for borders, woodland gardens, shady pathways, or container planting. Its compact form and early-season interest make it a favorite for small-space gardens and early spring displays.
This primula is deer and rabbit resistant, helping reduce damage from browsing wildlife. While not typically used as a cut flower, it adds long-lasting beauty in the landscape. Plant PRIMA BELARINA® SPRING SUN in groups for a bold splash of color or mix with other spring perennials for a layered, vibrant garden bed. A great choice for adding early color to shade gardens.
